The Power of Gronkowski

Why is Gronk a Necessity for the Pats?

Anyone who reads my blog most likely knows that Rob Gronkowski is the tight end of New England Patriots, and probably the best tight end in the league. He is strong, physical, athletic, and just a beast. He is by far the best tight end in the league, No one can compare to him at this position. Without him, I believe that the Patriots would not be in the position that they are in right now to go to a Super Bowl for a second straight year, and they might not have even won the Super Bowl last year. Why? First and for most, Gronk gives the entire team confidence. Just watching him spike the ball once, even if he doesn't score, has to give the team a boost. Even if HE is the one deflating all of the footballs in the endzone, no one cares, it just gives the team more "fun" during the game. Also, with him on the field, it frees up the other wide receivers for Tom Brady, such as the elusive Julian Edelman. Without him, defensive backs could focus their attention on mainly the receivers, but with him, they are always on their toes. He is too strong, too athletic, and has the physique of a wide receiver, which makes him a serious weapon that must be double covered. He gained 87 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Chiefs with an injury! This guy will wreck havoc for the Broncos, and just might make life easier for Tom Brady and the Patriots as they attempt to win the Conference Championship to make it to Super Bowl 50.

Why the Patriots Won Super Bowl 51

Pats Win Over Falcons 34-28 in OT It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, the Patriots could not get anything going on the offensive side of the ball. In the second half, the Falcons could not get anything going. Belichick and Brady pulled off some more magic and won their fifth Super Bowl together. In the second half, it seemed as though the game was getting away from the Atlanta Falcons, and their youth caught up to them. I believe that this game should have definitely been won by the Falcons, but the game slipped away from them. There are many reasons to explain what happened, including the fact that the Falcons did not run the football to milk down the clock in the second half, they turned the ball over when it was not necessary, they did not play as tough and physical on defense and seemed gassed, and even just because Tom Brady and the rest of his offense played a hell of a game. In my opinion, though, the real reason why the Patriots won, is because of t...

Week 14 Power Rankings

Cowboys on a Roll, Panthers Drop Not many people expected the Dallas Cowboys to top the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football during Week 13. The Saints came into the game winning ten straight, while the Cowboys were a "mediocre" team in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The Cowboys won 13-10 and will rise in the week's rankings. In other important games, the Chicago Bears lost a shocker to the New York Giants, Lamar Jackson won his third straight game for the Baltimore Ravens against the Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Texans won their ninth straight game, and the Los Angeles Chargers won a close one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Carolina Panthers are quickly fading in the wild-card race, and have lost four straight games. Here are my rankings heading into Week 14: Los Angeles Rams (11-1) Kansas City Chiefs (10-2) New Orleans Saints (10-2) Los Angeles Chargers (9-3) New England Patriots (9-3) Houston Texans (9-3) Pittsburgh Steelers (...

Week 7 Power Rankings

Chiefs Suffer First Loss; Ravens Shut Out Titans The New England Patriots were able to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs by three points at home, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers came back to avoid an upset to the 49ers, the Steelers defeated the Bengals, and the Dolphins took down the Bears at the end of overtime. There were some unexpected wins and losses, as well as some close games, in Week 6. The Dallas Cowboys blew out the Jacksonville Jaguars and their top-notch defense, 40-7. It is been hard to figure out which teams are "contenders" and which are "pretenders" this season. It is especially difficult to rank the middle of the pack teams. Here are my power rankings heading into Week 7: Los Angeles Rams (6-0) New Orleans Saints (4-1) Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) New England Patriots (4-2) Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2-1) Minnesota Vikings (3-2-1) Baltimore Ravens (4-2) Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) Carolina Panthers (3-2) Green Bay P...
