Week 4 Power Rankings

Upsets Cause Movement There were many upsets in Week 3, and there are only two undefeated teams left in the NFL (Spoiler Alert: these two teams rank #1 and #2). There will definitely be a shake-up in the rankings this week: Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) Atlanta Falcons (3-0) New England Patriots (2-1) Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) Green Bay Packers (2-1) Tennessee Titans (2-1) Detroit Lions (2-1) Washington Redskins (2-1) Oakland Raiders (2-1) Minnesota Vikings (2-1) Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) Denver Broncos (2-1) Los Angeles Rams (2-1) Dallas Cowboys (2-1) Buffalo Bills (2-1) Seattle Seahawks (1-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1) Baltimore Ravens (2-1) Houston Texans (1-2) Miami Dolphins (1-1) New Orleans Saints (1-2) Carolina Panthers (2-1) Chicago Bears (1-2) Los Angeles Chargers (0-3) New York Giants (0-3) Arizona Cardinals (1-2) New York Jets (1-2) Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) Indianapolis Colts (1-2) Cleveland Browns (0-3) San Fr...

Week 3 Power Rankings

Power Rankings In Week 2, the Patriots were able to rebound from their loss, the Packers lost, the Giants lost again, the Cowboys lost, and the Seahawks nearly lost to the 49ers. At the same time, the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders have been cruising by. There will definitely be a major shake-up in this week's power rankings: Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) Atlanta Falcons (2-0) Oakland Raiders (2-0) New England Patriots (1-1) Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0) Green Bay Packers (1-1) Baltimore Ravens (2-0) Denver Broncos (2-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) Detroit Lions (2-0) Dallas Cowboys (1-1) Seattle Seahawks (1-1) Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) Tennessee Titans (1-1) Minnesota Vikings (1-1) Miami Dolphins (1-0) Washington Redskins (1-1) Carolina Panthers (2-0) Los Angeles Rams (1-1) Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) New York Giants (0-2) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) Houston Texans (1-1) Arizona Cardinals (1-1) Buffalo ...

The Kaepernick Effect

The Anthem Protests are Spreading One year and one month ago, Colin Kaepernick was first spotted sitting down as the Star Spangled Banner was sung at a preseason NFL game because he refused to "show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." He continued to kneel in future games as the National Anthem was played. In a relatively short period of time, his protest of police brutality and racial injustice in the United States has captivated the country and sparked a debate not only about the state of race relations in America, but about what exactly it means to be a patriot. As police brutality has become more evident and widespread in the country, Kaepernick's initial protest has mutated and spread. There is much controversy as to what is right and what is wrong, and the peaceful protests have inspired conversations among people of all ages, races, and backgrounds, and also action to improve situations in troubled communities. Week 2 Power Rankings

Power Rankings In Week 1 of the Regular Season, there were many teams that struggled, and many teams that played well. There were some surprising wins and losses, most notably the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the New England Patriots in the first game of the season. Here are my power rankings heading into the next week: Green Bay Packers (1-0) Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) Atlanta Falcons (1-0) Oakland Raiders (1-0) Dallas Cowboys (1-0) Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0) New England Patriots (0-1) Seattle Seahawks (0-1) Minnesota Vikings (1-0) Detroit Lions (1-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-0) Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) Tennessee Titans (0-1) Miami Dolphins (0-0) Denver Broncos (1-0) Baltimore Ravens (1-0) New York Giants (0-1) Washington Redskins (0-1) Carolina Panthers (1-0) Los Angeles Chargers (0-1) Arizona Cardinals (0-1) Los Angeles Rams (1-0) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) Buffalo Bills (1-0) New Orleans Saints (0-1) Houston Texans (0-1) Chicago Bears (0-1) Clevel...

David Johnson is Out

David Johnson Injured Wrist vs. Lions Fantasy owners who had the #1 overall pick in their drafts are probably shocked and speechless. The first pick in most drafts, running back David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals, dislocated his wrist. There is no timetable for his return. The All-Pro player is expected to miss an extended amount of time, and Kerwynn Williams will take over the starting job. This was a devastating blow for the Arizona Cardinals, who played awful on offense against the Detroit Lions. Carson Palmer seemed out of sorts, and they were incredibly sluggish against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. Palmer threw three picks, and one of their touchdowns was via the defense.  The Cardinals can absolutely use all of the help them can get, especially with Palmer throwing three picks, and losing David Johnson, their best player, does not help them at all.  The Arizona Cardinals have definitely not started the 2017-18 NFL Season how they plan...

Chiefs vs. Patriots Recap

Chiefs Defeat Super Bowl 51 Champs in Season Opener The Kansas City Chiefs started slow and then ripped the life out of the New England Patriots in a 42-27 win that kicked off the 2017 NFL season in surprising fashion.  No team has ever racked up more offensive yardage (537) and points (42) against a Bill Belichick-led defense in New England. It was a rough night for the defending champions who started the game looking like their usual dominant selves.  Tom Brady   opened the game by orchestrating a nine-play, 73-yard touchdown drive and then was gifted another possession when the Chiefs fumbled away their first chance on offense.  But Kansas City came back with a vengeance and picked apart the New England defense. A 21-0 run in the fourth quarter erased a 27-21 lead for the Patriots and gave the Chiefs an impressive victory.  Rookie running back   Kareem Hunt   tallied 148 rushing yards, 98 receiving yards, and three touchdown...

Pre-Regular Season Power Rankings

Power Rankings Before Week 1 The regular season will start tomorrow when the New England Patriots, the defending Super Bowl Champions, take on the Kansas City Chiefs. We will learn a lot about how all of the teams are compared to each other based on how they play in week one. Here are my power rankings for the beginning of the regular season: New England Patriots Atlanta Falcons Green Bay Packers Seattle Seahawks Oakland Raiders New York Giants Pittsburgh Steelers Kansas City Chiefs Tennessee Titans Dallas Cowboys Arizona Cardinals Houston Texans Tampa Bay Buccaneers Miami Dolphins Detroit Lions Washington Redskins San Diego Chargers Philadelphia Eagles New Orleans Saints Denver Broncos Minnesota Vikings Carolina Panthers Cincinnati Bengals Baltimore Ravens Los Angeles Rams Chicago Bears Indianapolis Colts Jacksonville Jaguars Cleveland Browns San Francisco 49ers Buffalo Bills New York Jets

Ezekiel Elliott Suspension Upheld

Elliott Will Play in Week 1 Ezekiel Elliott's six game suspension will be upheld, and he will play in Week One against the New York Giants. Elliott's appeal was denied, but due to the timing of the decision, he will be allowed to play. The decision came after a three day appeal session last week over the domestic violence accusations made against Elliott. Having the running back available is great news for the Dallas Cowboys, who will need all the help they can get playing against the Giants' defense. Dak Prescott has his biggest weapon back, and there will not be as much pressure on him.  There will probably more hearings in the future, and this case is not over. Elliott can still be suspended during the season. We will see what happens next.

Andrew Luck Won't Play

Andrew Luck Still Injured The Indianapolis Colts will open up the season against the Los Angeles Rams without the help of their star quarterback, Andrew Luck. There is no timetable for his return, and it could take him as much as a month to get back on the field. There are even talks that if the Colts do not play well, they might decide to bench Luck so that he does not get any other injuries. His replacement will be Scott Tolzien. The Colts also decided to trade the former first round draft pick, Philip Dorsett, to the New England Patriots for Jacoby Brissett, that way they have more depth on their bench. Without Luck, expect Frank Gore to run the ball more, and the tight ends to be targeted more by Tolzien.

Sleepers

Sleeper Teams and Players Watch Out For There are certain teams and players that I feel can rise this year and play exceptionally well, and even make the playoffs (This list does not include teams such as the Tennessee Titans, who are not considered sleepers anymore). These teams from each conference have the potential and talent on both sides of the ball to have a good season, but everything has to click. AFC Sleepers: Team - Los Angeles Chargers Quarterback - Jay Cutler (Miami Dolphins) Running Back - Isaiah Crowell (Cleveland Browns) Wide Receiver - Eric Decker (Tennessee Titans) Tight End - Hunter Henry (Los Angeles Chargers) Offensive Line - Houston Texans Defensive Line - Los Angeles Chargers Linebackers - Houston Texans Defensive Backs - Tennessee Titans NFC Sleepers: Team - Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback - Sam Bradford (Minnesota Vikings) Running Back - Paul Perkins (New York Giants) Wide Receiver - Cooper Kupp (Los Angeles Rams) Tight End -...
