Week 14 Power Rankings

Cowboys on a Roll, Panthers Drop Not many people expected the Dallas Cowboys to top the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football during Week 13. The Saints came into the game winning ten straight, while the Cowboys were a "mediocre" team in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The Cowboys won 13-10 and will rise in the week's rankings. In other important games, the Chicago Bears lost a shocker to the New York Giants, Lamar Jackson won his third straight game for the Baltimore Ravens against the Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Texans won their ninth straight game, and the Los Angeles Chargers won a close one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Carolina Panthers are quickly fading in the wild-card race, and have lost four straight games. Here are my rankings heading into Week 14: Los Angeles Rams (11-1) Kansas City Chiefs (10-2) New Orleans Saints (10-2) Los Angeles Chargers (9-3) New England Patriots (9-3) Houston Texans (9-3) Pittsburgh Steelers (...

Week 13 Power Rankings

Saints, Rams, Chiefs On Top; Cowboys Trending Upward The Saints, Cowboys, and Bears all won crucial games against rivals on Thanksgiving Day, and are moving closer to earning a spot in the playoffs. On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks won a crucial matchup against the Carolina Panthers to tighten the race for the NFC wild-card spots. In the AFC wild-card battle, the Ravens, Colts, and Broncos are all trending upward at the right time, while the Titans, Bengals, and Dolphins are trending downward. Here are the power rankings after Week 12: New Orleans Saints (10-1) Los Angeles Rams (10-1) Kansas City Chiefs (9-2) Los Angeles Chargers (8-3) New England Patriots (8-3) Chicago Bears (8-3) Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3-1) Houston Texans (8-3) Seattle Seahawks (6-5) Minnesota Vikings (6-4-1) Indianapolis Colts (6-5) Baltimore Ravens (6-5) Dallas Cowboys (6-5) Carolina Panthers (6-5) Denver Broncos (5-6) Washington Redskins (6-5) Philadelphia Eagles (5-6) Cleveland Browns (...

No Le'Veon Bell Sighting

Bell's Steeler Career Over Le'Veon Bell did not show to the Steelers practice facility this week, which means he will no longer be suiting up for the team this season. His career with Pittsburgh is also most certainly over. At the beginning of the season, everyone believed that the Steelers would miss the presence of Le'Veon Bell on offense, but the emergence of James Conner at running back has caused other players to raid Bell's locker instead. Bell left more than 14 million dollars on the table because he was never able to reach a long-term deal with the Steelers, and now, he goes into free agency with a fresh set of legs. He could have a great market next year, depending on his physique and health. Here are my top five potential destinations for Bell: Indianapolis Colts Houston Texans Philadelphia Eagles San Francisco 49ers Baltimore Ravens

Week 10 Power Rankings

Saints Rise, Packers Fall The New Orleans Saints defeated the Los Angeles Rams, giving them their first loss of the season, and improving to 7-1. Both teams have one loss on the season, but as of now, the Saints look slightly better. In the AFC, the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs continue to roll, while the Steelers, Chargers, and Texans are all streaking. Here are the power rankings following Week 9: New Orleans Saints (7-1) Los Angeles Rams (8-1) New England Patriots (7-2) Kansas City Chiefs (8-1) Los Angeles Chargers (6-2) Carolina Panthers (6-2) Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2-1) Minnesota Vikings (5-3-1) Houston Texans (6-3) Chicago Bears (5-3) Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) Atlanta Falcons (4-4) Baltimore Ravens (4-5) Washington Redskins (5-3) Green Bay Packers (3-4-1) Seattle Seahawks (4-4) Tennessee Titans (4-4) Cincinnati Bengals (5-3) Miami Dolphins (5-4) Indianapolis Colts (3-5) Detroit Lions (3-5) Dallas Cowboys (3-5) Jacksonville Jaguars ...

Week 7 Power Rankings

Chiefs Suffer First Loss; Ravens Shut Out Titans The New England Patriots were able to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs by three points at home, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers came back to avoid an upset to the 49ers, the Steelers defeated the Bengals, and the Dolphins took down the Bears at the end of overtime. There were some unexpected wins and losses, as well as some close games, in Week 6. The Dallas Cowboys blew out the Jacksonville Jaguars and their top-notch defense, 40-7. It is been hard to figure out which teams are "contenders" and which are "pretenders" this season. It is especially difficult to rank the middle of the pack teams. Here are my power rankings heading into Week 7: Los Angeles Rams (6-0) New Orleans Saints (4-1) Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) New England Patriots (4-2) Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2-1) Minnesota Vikings (3-2-1) Baltimore Ravens (4-2) Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) Carolina Panthers (3-2) Green Bay P...

Week 5 Power Rankings

Tough to Judge... Except for the Top Two Teams The top two teams in the league right now are definitely the Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs. Led by their young quarterbacks and solid surrounding pieces, they seem like they have the tools to make a deep run in the playoffs. They are the only two undefeated teams left after the Miami Dolphins were blown out by the New England Patriots 38-7. The most disappointing team in the league so far has to be the Falcons, who should be 3-1 or even 4-0, but are instead 1-3. They have lost three games by one score, and they should have one each of them but could not come through. Part of the reason is their injuries on defense to three Pro Bowl players, but they should still be winning more games. Here are the power rankings going into crucial Week 5 matchups: Los Angeles Rams (4-0) Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) New Orleans Saints (3-1) Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) Cincinnati Bengals (3-1) Chicago Bears (3-1) Tennessee Titans (...

Best Team in the NFL?

Week 4 Power Rankings Only three teams remain undefeated after Week 3 (Rams, Dolphins, and Chiefs). There were some surprising results after Week 3, such as the Bills defeated the Vikings. Teams are losing more players to injuries, which will affect how the rest of their season turns out. Here are the power rankings after Week 3 (disregarding the Rams' win over the Vikings on Thursday night): Los Angeles Rams (3-0) Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1) Miami Dolphins (3-0) New Orleans Saints (2-1) Green Bay Packers (1-1-1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) Carolina Panthers (2-1) Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1-1) Minnesota Vikings (1-1-1) New England Patriots (1-2) Washington Redskins (2-1) Denver Broncos (2-1) Baltimore Ravens (2-1) Chicago Bears (2-1) Los Angeles Chargers (1-2) Atlanta Falcons (1-2) Cincinnati Bengals (2-1) Tennessee Titans (2-1) Cleveland Browns (1-1-1) Indianapolis Colts (1-2) New York Giants (1-2) S...

Chargers, Lions, Steelers Tumble

Rusty? A lot of teams looked rusty in Week One... or they might not be as good as expected. There were some surprising outcomes (including a tie), and a lot of teams will look to improve on both sides of the ball on the road to Atlanta. In my opinion, the Minnesota Vikings looked like the most complete team on both sides of the ball in Week One, and could be a team to beat moving forward. Here are the power rankings heading into next week: Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) Los Angeles Rams (1-0) Minnesota Vikings (1-0) New England Patriots (1-0) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) Green Bay Packers (1-0) Baltimore Ravens (1-0) Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) Carolina Panthers (1-0) Atlanta Falcons (0-1) New Orleans Saints (0-1) Los Angeles Chargers (0-1) Washington Redskins (1-0) New York Giants (0-1) Chicago Bears (0-1) Houston Texans (0-1) Pittsburgh Steelers (0-0-1) New York Jets (1-0) San Francisco 49ers (0-1) Denver Broncos (1-0) Tamp...

The Chiefs' Offense

A Cheetah! The Patrick Mahomes to Tyreek Hill connection did not disappoint on Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs played the Los Angeles Chargers. When Alex Smith was traded to the Redskins last March, we were not 100% sure what to expect from Mahomes, who had not attempted many passes. Everyone knew about his mobility, arm strength, and risk-taking mentality, but no one knew how this translated on the field. Some of those concerns have definitely been lifted with a 38-20 win in Week 1, with Mahomes orchestrating four touchdown passes. He looked smart, patient, calm, and collected in the pocket. Besides the quarterback, everyone saw why Tyreek Hill is one of the most lethal weapons in the entire league on the offensive side of the ball. Hill scored on a punt return, catch-and-run TD, as well as a running TD. He finished with A LOT of all-purpose yards. Hill's burning speed is something that defenses are simply not prepared for. The Chiefs offense is firing on all cylind...

New Season, New Power Rankings

Eagles are #1; Who is #2? The Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with a couple of injuries (primarily one to Carson Wentz), but they are the defending Super Bowl champs and deserve the #1 spot in this season's first power rankings. The NFC looks more loaded this year compared to the AFC, and there will be a lot of great matchups week in and week out in that conference. The rookie quarterbacks have looked great so far in the preseason; I do not really have anything bad to say about Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, or Josh Allen. Here are my first power rankings heading into the last week of the preseason: Philadelphia Eagles Los Angeles Rams Jacksonville Jaguars Minnesota Vikings New England Patriots Atlanta Falcons New Orleans Saints Pittsburgh Steelers Los Angeles Chargers Green Bay Packers Carolina Panthers Houston Texans San Francisco 49ers Oakland Raiders Washington Redskins Denver Broncos Tennessee ...

Ranking the QB Prospects

Great Quarterbacks in Draft There are many great prospects in the NFL draft this year, especially at the quarterback position. Many teams in the league are looking for young. fresh, and new quarterbacks to bolster their teams, similar to the process teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams followed. Here is how I rank the quarterbacks prospects heading into the draft: Baker Mayfield - Oklahoma Sam Darnold - USC Josh Allen - Wyoming Josh Rosen - UCLA Mason Rudolph - Oklahoma State Lamar Jackson - Louisville Also, here is a list of teams who might be looking for quarterbacks heading into this year's draft: Cleveland Browns Buffalo Bills Arizona Cardinals New York Jets Baltimore Ravens Denver Broncos New York Giants New England Patriots New Orleans Saints Los Angeles Chargers

Big Moves Before Free Agency

Trades, Trades and More Trades! Many trades have occurred in the league in the past week and will most likely change the outcomes of the draft and free agency. The Cleveland Browns have suddenly made their team a lot better in one day. Yesterday, the Browns traded for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, Green Bay Packers cornerback Damarious Randall, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor. They still have two of the top four picks in the NFL Draft this year, as well.  The Los Angeles Rams traded away Alec Ogletree to the New York Giants, Robert Quinn to the Miami Dolphins, while receiving cornerbacks Aqib Talib from the Denver Broncos and Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos now have enough space to make a run at signing quarterback Kirk Cousins in free agency. In other news, the Seattle Seahawks have released top cornerback Richard Sherman and their #2 cornerback, Jeremy Lane. They traded defensive end Michael Bennett to the Philadelph...

Rams Make Another Trade

Robert Quinn is Going to the Dolphins The Los Angeles Rams have decided to part ways with one of the best defensive ends in the game, Robert Quinn. He will become a Miami Dolphin, who decided to send a mid-round draft to the Rams in exchange for Quinn. A week earlier, the Rams trade two draft picks for cornerback Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams reportedly offered Quinn in that deal as well, but the Chiefs did not want him. Quinn has been an efficient player in the league, and recorded 8.5 sacks, along with 32.5 tackles, last season. He will help bolster the defensive line of the Dolphins, which already has Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake. They will definitely make for a fearsome group of pass rushers in the NFL. Considering that Quinn still has two years left on his contract, it is hard to believe that the Rams would trade him. Their reason was most likely that Quinn has been injured a couple of times in his career, they lost a couple of draft picks f...

Chiefs Trade Marcus Peters

Marcus Peters to the Rams The Kansas City Chiefs will be trading former All-Pro, Pro Bowl, and Rookie of the Year cornerback to the Los Angeles Rams for a couple of draft picks. Peters is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and he has had the most interceptions and passes defended since entering the league in 2015, so it is surprising that the Chiefs would trade a budding star. The main reason for this move was probably that his antics on and off the field were not supported by the organization. The Chiefs suspended him for one game last season, and he did not create a "good" environment in the locker room. With this trade, the Rams get another cornerstone on defense, that will only help their young team get better (as long as Peters takes care of some of the character concerns). Also, the move also indicates that the Rams will allow corner Trumaine Johnson to walk in free agency.

Top Free Agents Available

Kirk Cousins is the Guy  This year's free agent class seems pretty weak, especially at certain positions, compared to others. Some players, such as LeVeon Bell and DeMarcus Lawrence, will probably be taken off the market once their teams use the franchise tag on them. The player who will probably receive the most attention during free agency is Kirk Cousins, who is a top fifteen quarterback in the league. He will most likely not be retained by the Redskins. Here are my top fifteen free agents for this offseason (who have a good chance of remaining on the market): Kirk Cousins - Quarterback Allen Robinson - Wide Receiver Jarvis Landry - Wide Receiver Lamarcus Joyner - Defensive Back Andrew Norwell - Offensive Guard Dontari Poe - Defensive Tackle Sheldon Richardson - Defensive Tackle Case Keenum - Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater - Quarterback Trumaine Johnson - Defensive Back Nate Solder - Offensive Tackle Sammy Watkins - Wide Receiver Justin Pugh - Offensive Gu...

Ranking the New Head Coaches

Colts Hire Frank Reich A couple of days ago, the Indianapolis Colts decided to hire Frank Reich, the former offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, as their new head coach. The Colts planned on hiring Josh McDaniels, but he decided to stay with the Patriots at the last minute. Now, every team has a head coach, and they are set to make plans for the NFL combine, free agency, and the draft. Here is how I rank the new head coaches in the league: Jon Gruden - Oakland Raiders HC Matt Nagy - Chicago Bears HC Frank Reich - Indianapolis Colts HC Matt Patricia - Detroit Lions HC Steve Wilkes - Arizona Cardinals HC Mike Vrabel - Tennessee Titans HC Pat Shurmur - New York Giants HC

Richest Player in the NFL

Jimmy Garappolo Gets Paid Jimmy Garappolo became the richest man in the NFL today. He signed a five year deal with the San Francisco 49ers worth 137.5 million dollars. The deal includes 74 million dollars in guaranteed money. Jimmy G was drafted by the Patriots in 2014, and was the backup to Tom Brady before being traded during the season. Garappolo won the last five games of the season for the 49ers, and in his career, he is undefeated. He led the 49ers to victories over three playoff teams. This deal now sets the market for other quarterbacks, especially Kirk Cousins, who is set to be a free agent. He will most likely make at least 27 million dollars per year. Other quarterbacks, such as Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, and Drew Brees, are set to earn extensions worth more than this amount as well.

Post-Super Bowl Power Rankings

Philly Looks Strong Philadelphia just won the Super Bowl, but they seem poised to make another run... with Carson Wentz. The team does not have many holes, and they the opportunity to address these issues in the offseason. They deserve to be on the top of the Power Rankings. On the other side of the coin, the Patriots will be losing their offensive and defensive coordinators, but it seems like they will still have Belichick and Brady. There are some teams on this list who might be better of worse based on what happens with free agency, the draft, injuries, and simply how the team performs over the course of the season. Here are the power rankings for all 32 teams looking forward to Super Bowl 52. Philadelphia Eagles New England Patriots Jacksonville Jaguars New Orleans Saints Pittsburgh Steelers Minnesota Vikings Atlanta Falcons Los Angeles Rams Los Angeles Chargers Green Bay Packers Carolina Panthers Oakland Raiders San Francisco 49ers Tennessee Titans Seattle...

Philly Wins their First Super Bowl

Eagles Take Down Pats in SBLII The Patriots and Eagles delivered the most action-packed game in Super Bowl history. The two high-octane offenses combined for 1,151 yards - the greatest amount in any NFL game. Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles, played as well as Tom Brady, and did not seem phased by the bright lights. He threw for over 350 yards and three touchdowns, and even caught a touchdown from his tight end. Surprisingly, Tom Brady threw for 505 yards and 3 touchdowns in the loss. In the end, Brandon Graham forced a Brady fumble with just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, thwarting the New England Patriots' chance for another epic playoff comeback.  Philadelphia's offensive play-calling was outstanding and gutsy throughout this game. Head coach Doug Pederson did a great job dialing up numerous trick plays throughout the course of the game. The Eagles were able to constantly move the ball down the field through the air and on the ground. Jay Ajayi and ...

Super Bowl Pick

Eagles Will Beat Patriots Many people may think that I am pretty crazy to be picking the Philadelphia Eagles over two G.O.A.T.'s (Brady and Belichick) and the New England Patriots. To be completely honest, I am doubting this pick myself. The Patriots will be in their eight Super Bowl in the Brady-Belichick era, and they have five out of seven so far. The only that they have ever lost to is the New York Giants (twice). I believe that the Eagles have enough firepower to defeat the Pats on both sides of the ball. Even without Carson Wentz, the Eagles offense has played relatively well, and Nick Foles' strengths as a quarterback were showcased in the NFC Conference Championship Round against one of the top two defenses in the league. The Eagles have a good running back duo with Jay Ajayi and LeGarrette Blount, and an OUTSTANDING offensive line. Their lines may be the deciding factors in this game. Their defensive line is deep, and they are able to rush the passer with only ...

Nick Foles

Almost Retiring to Super Bowl QB Carson Wentz was supposed to be the MVP and lead the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl. In Week 14 against the Rams, he went down with an ACL injury. Nick Foles came into the game. He had a breakout season in 2013 with the Eagles, and then he was traded to the Rams after a bad season in 2014. He lost his starting job to Case Keenum, and then moved on and went to Kansas City to back up Alex Smith. He mulled retirement, and did not see his career going anywhere. Instead, he decided to go back to Philadelphia, where he was drafted, and back up Wentz. When Wentz suffered an injury, not many people believed Foles could bring Philly to the promise land. Even though they were the #1 seed in the NFC, they were considered underdogs against the Falcons and Vikings, and possibly the weakest team in the entire conference. Foles helped his team defy the odds, and now he will be playing in the Super Bowl. If the Eagles win against the Patriots this Sunday...

Alex Smith is a Redskin

Smith Traded Alex Smith was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Washington Redskins for at least a second round draft pick yesterday. The Chiefs moved up in the draft last year to the 10th pick and took Patrick Mahomes, signaling the end for Smith in Kansas City. Keeping him on the team cost too much money in cap space, and they were not really getting any closer to winning a Super Bowl. Smith had a career year, and was definitely in the MVP conversation. The Redskins gave Smith a four-year contract extension as soon as the trade happened, which means that Smith will be in Washington for five years (considering that he plays well).  On the other side of the coin, Kirk Cousins will now not be retained by Washington. He was never given a contract extension by the team, and was instead franchise-tagged for multiple years. Many teams will try to lure Cousins in free agency, and once this domino falls, we will have a good idea about which teams will have an opportunity...

New Coaches

Giants, Cardinals, and Titans Have New Coaches The New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, and Tennessee Titans have all hired their new coaches. The Giants have decided to go with Pat Shurmur, the former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator. He did a great job in Minnesota considering the offense ranked amongst the best and they lost two quarterbacks and their starting running back during the year. He molded Case Keenum into a starting quarterback and made Adam Thielen a Pro Bowl receiver. The Giants also hired James Bettcher as their new defensive coordinator. The Titans hired Mike Vrabel, the former defensive coordinator of the Houston Texans. Vrabel brings toughness to the team and a new culture to help them improve from 9-7. At the same time, this hire does not do much for the offense and developing Marcus Mariota. He will need to hire a great offensive coordinator (possibly John DeFilippo, the current quarterback's coach of the Philadelphia Eagles). The Cardinals ...

Conference Championship Games

Patriots and Eagles On Conference Championship Sunday, the Patriots came back after trailing by ten points to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20, and the Eagles absolutely crushed the Vikings, 38-7. No one expected Nick Foles and the Eagles offense to light up the Vikings stout defense. Foles threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns and looked a lot like Carson Wentz, an MVP candidate. In the other game, Brady was able to orchestrate another comeback even without having Rob Gronkowski, who suffered a head injury. The Patriots and Eagles will play in Minnesota for Super Bowl 52. The Pats are the defending champs; they defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime last year. The Philadelphia Eagles have never won a Super Bowl, and the last time they were at the big game was in 2004, and they lost against... the Patriots. Here are my power rankings for the playoff teams: New England Patriots (15-3) Philadelphia Eagles (15-3) Jacksonville Jaguars (12-7) Minne...

Mularkey Done in Tennessee

Titans Fire Mike Mularkey Despite defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card Round and leading the Tennessee Titans to a game against the New England Patriots, Mike Mularkey is no longer the coach. He led the Titans to two straight 9-7 seasons. Apparently, the organization did not think that Mularkey was the right guy to help develop Marcus Mariota and improving the team from 9-7 to a Super Bowl contender. The Titans want Josh McDaniels to be their next coach, but he seems set to become the next head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. Here are potential head coach candidates for the Titans: John DeFilippo - Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Coach Frank Reich - Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Coordinator Matt LaFleur - Los Angeles Rams Offensive Coordinator Mike Vrabel - Houston Texans Defensive Coordinator Steve Wilkes - Carolina Panthers Defensive Coordinator Here is some other coaching news: As stated earlier, Josh McDaniels (Patriots OC) is expected to become t...

Divisional Round Recap and New Power Rankings

Jags beat Steelers, Pats crush Titans, Eagles outlast Falcons, Vikings defeat Saints on Final Play The final play of the Saints and Vikings game represented three out of the four matchups of the weekend: Close games that came right down to the wire. There were four lead changes in the final four minutes of the Saints vs. Vikings game, and the Vikes won with a walk-off 61-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs as time expired. The Vikings were leading 17-0, but the Saints charged back to take the lead (24-23) with forty seconds left in the game. It seemed like the Saints would move on to play the Eagles in the NFC Championship game, but then the Minneapolis Miracle happened. In the other games, the Patriots crushed the Titans 35-14, showing that the news that came out in the previous weeks meant absolutely nothing. The Jags took an early lead against the Steelers with good play on both sides of the ball. Blake Bortles played like a starting quarterback in this game, and withou...

News in New England

Cracks Between Belichick and Brady? In the past couple of weeks, news has come out that there has been some conflict between the coach (Bill Belichick), quarterback (Tom Brady), and owner (Robert Kraft) of the New England Patriots. The news revolved around how Tom Brady "celebrated" the trade of Jimmy Garoppolo, and Bill Belichick did not want to trade him. Today, Brady said that he would never celebrate the loss of player whether they were traded, cut, etc. This news simply puts the Patriots in the spotlight again. The team is normally not phased by such news, but I believe that it does give the Titans a better chance to upset the Pats if the team is distracted. The Titans are no push-over, and the Patriots must be on their game as well if they want to move on to the AFC Championship game.

Wild Card Wins and New Power Rankings

Falcons are on a Mission These were the results of the Wild Card playoff games: Tennessee Titans 22 - Kansas City Chiefs 21 Atlanta Falcons 26 - Los Angeles Rams 13 Jacksonville Jaguars 10 - Buffalo Bills 3 New Orleans Saints 31 - Carolina Panthers 26 Out of the all the teams who played last weekend, the Falcons definitely looked the best. They were able to stop MVP candidate Todd Gurley, stop the best offense in the NFL this season, and win on the road. Now, they go on to play the Philadelphia Eagles, while the other winner in the NFC, the Saints, will play the Minnesota Vikings. In the AFC, The Titans came back from an improbable halftime deficit to beat the Chiefs, which was very unexpected considering how bad they have played all season. This might give them some momentum in the Divisional Round, although I do not see them knocking off the New England Patriots. The Jags were in a tight defensive battle with the Bills, and in the end were victorious, although th...

Top Quarterback Prospects Declare for 2018 NFL Draft

Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold will be Drafted Two quarterbacks playing for college teams in California declared for the 2018 NFL Draft within thirty minutes of each other. They have a chance to be the first two quarterbacks off the board this year, and might even be the first two picks. They have been top prospects all season long, but there has been some uncertainty. Rosen has had injuries throughout his career at UCLA, and Darnold has been somewhat inconsistent. When the two played each other this season, Rosen had the better game passing, but Sam Darnold won the game. Here are five teams that are in need of a quarterback heading into next season: Cleveland Browns New York Jets Arizona Cardinals New York Giants Washington Redskins/Miami Dolphins (depending on the offseason)

Bruce Arians: Cardinals Coach Retires

Arians Retires Bruce Arians' press conference on Monday was emotional. The former Cardinals coach said that family was the reason he decided to retire from coaching. His five-year stint with Arizona was actually his first NFL head-coaching job. Arians said he did not make his final decision to retire until Phil Dawson's 42-yard field goal went through the uprights at CenturyLink Field in Seattle on Sunday night. He told his team after Arizona's 26-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, and the players kept it a secret until he announced it late Monday morning. Arians leaves the Cardinals as the coach with the most wins in franchise history, with a 50-32-1 record.   This afternoon, the injury-plagued quarterback, Carson Palmer, also announced his retirement from the league. The Cardinals must figure out how to move on after losing two key pieces of their team.  For now, we all praise the job Arians has done with the Cardinals, running the team his way. After t...

New Year, New Coaches

Multiple Coaches Lose Jobs Happy New Year to everyone, especially Chuck Pagano, John Fox, Jim Caldwell, Ben McAdoo, and Jack Del Rio. These five coaches have all lost their jobs, and I expect a few more teams to make some changes in the coming days. The coaching carousel has begun, and the Colts, Bears, Lions, Giants, and Raiders are all looking for new coaches. Here is a list of ten coaches who can potentially land a head coaching job in the coming weeks: Josh McDaniels - New England Patriots OC Matt Patricia - New England Patriots DC Matt Nagy - Kansas City Chiefs OC Kris Richard - Seattle Seahawks DC Jim Schwartz - Philadelphia Eagles DC Jon Gruden Teryl Austin - Detroit Lions DC Steve Wilks - Carolina Panthers DC Vic Fangio - Chicago Bears DC Pat Shurmer - Minnesota Vikings OC

End of the Regular Season Rankings

Jags and Eagles Vulnerable? 49ers are Smoking Hot Week 17 marked the end of the regular season, and all of the playoff teams have been determined. The Chargers, even after destroying the Raiders, were unable to make the playoffs because the Titans were able to defeat the Jaguars. The other seed in the AFC went to the Buffalo Bills, who defeated the Dolphins, and then got an assist from the Bengals, who were able to defeat the Ravens late in the fourth quarter. As a result, the Titans and Bills will play during Wild-Card Weekend, while the Chargers and Ravens will be looking towards the offseason. In the NFC, The Atlanta Falcons claimed the final spot by defeating the Panthers. They would have made the playoffs even if they lost because the Seahawks also lost to the Cardinals. In other news, the 49ers have won every game that Jimmy Garapolo has started, the Buccaneers were able to upset the Saints, and the Cowboys defeated the Eagles. Although the Philadelphia Eagles are the #1 ...

Jimmy Garappolo is the MAN

49ers have won 5 Straight The NFC West will be fun next year. Of course, every year the Seahawks are in contention with Russell Wilson and their defense. This year, the Los Angeles Rams won the most games in their division and are headed to the postseason behind their high-flying offense and their stout defense. And now, the 49ers are STREAKING. They have won five straight games to close out the season, and Jimmy Garappolo has started all of those games. The 49ers traded for Garappolo midseason, and as of now, it seems like a great acquisition. He is throwing the ball on target, making good decisions, and acting like a franchise quarterback. #10 has made football fun again in San Francisco. Most recently, Garappolo has led the 49ers to two straight wins over top-5 defenses in the Jaguars and Rams. Their offense is clicking on all cylinders, and cannot be stopped. Part of the reason might be because he was learning from Tom Brady for four years before being traded. Here are ...
