Falcons are on a Mission
These were the results of the Wild Card playoff games:
- Tennessee Titans 22 - Kansas City Chiefs 21
- Atlanta Falcons 26 - Los Angeles Rams 13
- Jacksonville Jaguars 10 - Buffalo Bills 3
- New Orleans Saints 31 - Carolina Panthers 26
Out of the all the teams who played last weekend, the Falcons definitely looked the best. They were able to stop MVP candidate Todd Gurley, stop the best offense in the NFL this season, and win on the road. Now, they go on to play the Philadelphia Eagles, while the other winner in the NFC, the Saints, will play the Minnesota Vikings. In the AFC, The Titans came back from an improbable halftime deficit to beat the Chiefs, which was very unexpected considering how bad they have played all season. This might give them some momentum in the Divisional Round, although I do not see them knocking off the New England Patriots. The Jags were in a tight defensive battle with the Bills, and in the end were victorious, although their offensive play was not great. They will have to fix things going into next week against the Steelers.
Here are my updated playoff rankings:
- New England Patriots (13-3)
- Minnesota Vikings (13-3)
- Pittsburgh Steelers (13-3)
- New Orleans Saints (12-5)
- Atlanta Falcons (11-6)
- Philadelphia Eagles (13-3)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (11-6)
- Tennessee Titans (10-7)
- Los Angeles Rams (11-6)
- Carolina Panthers (11-6)
- Kansas City Chiefs (10-7)
- Buffalo Bills (9-8)
