Best Draft Choices for the Kansas City Chiefs

Leading Up to the Draft for the Chiefs

Let me just state that I will choose teams randomly to write about from now on after writing about my favorite team, the Atlanta Falcons. First up (second up I mean), are the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs could have gone to the playoffs last year and finished with a winning record in the AFC (9-7). I believe that they could have actually made some noise in the playoffs because they had defeated the Patriots, the Super Bowl Champs, and other really good teams. The biggest problems were on offense, and not even one of their receivers caught a touchdown pass. No wide receiver. Not Dwayne Bowe. Not Donnie Avery. Their tight ends and running backs caught touchdowns, but not their wide receivers.

The Chiefs need a Strong Safety and a couple of rookie wide receivers. Here are the most prominent prospects for the Kansas City Chiefs with the 18th overall draft pick:
  1. Landon Collins - Strong Safety - Alabama
  2. DeVante Parker - Wide Receiver - Louisville (Kevin White and Amari Cooper will be off the board by then.)
  3. Dorial Green-Beckham - Wide Receiver - Missouri
  4. Jaelen Strong - Wide Receiver - Arizona State
  5. Devin Smith - Wide Receiver - Ohio State
  6. Phillip Dorsett - Wide Receiver - Miami (Second or Third Round, Deep and Fast Threat)

Why the Patriots Won Super Bowl 51

Pats Win Over Falcons 34-28 in OT It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, the Patriots could not get anything going on the offensive side of the ball. In the second half, the Falcons could not get anything going. Belichick and Brady pulled off some more magic and won their fifth Super Bowl together. In the second half, it seemed as though the game was getting away from the Atlanta Falcons, and their youth caught up to them. I believe that this game should have definitely been won by the Falcons, but the game slipped away from them. There are many reasons to explain what happened, including the fact that the Falcons did not run the football to milk down the clock in the second half, they turned the ball over when it was not necessary, they did not play as tough and physical on defense and seemed gassed, and even just because Tom Brady and the rest of his offense played a hell of a game. In my opinion, though, the real reason why the Patriots won, is because of t...

Week 14 Power Rankings

Cowboys on a Roll, Panthers Drop Not many people expected the Dallas Cowboys to top the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football during Week 13. The Saints came into the game winning ten straight, while the Cowboys were a "mediocre" team in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The Cowboys won 13-10 and will rise in the week's rankings. In other important games, the Chicago Bears lost a shocker to the New York Giants, Lamar Jackson won his third straight game for the Baltimore Ravens against the Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Texans won their ninth straight game, and the Los Angeles Chargers won a close one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Carolina Panthers are quickly fading in the wild-card race, and have lost four straight games. Here are my rankings heading into Week 14: Los Angeles Rams (11-1) Kansas City Chiefs (10-2) New Orleans Saints (10-2) Los Angeles Chargers (9-3) New England Patriots (9-3) Houston Texans (9-3) Pittsburgh Steelers (...

Week 7 Power Rankings

Chiefs Suffer First Loss; Ravens Shut Out Titans The New England Patriots were able to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs by three points at home, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers came back to avoid an upset to the 49ers, the Steelers defeated the Bengals, and the Dolphins took down the Bears at the end of overtime. There were some unexpected wins and losses, as well as some close games, in Week 6. The Dallas Cowboys blew out the Jacksonville Jaguars and their top-notch defense, 40-7. It is been hard to figure out which teams are "contenders" and which are "pretenders" this season. It is especially difficult to rank the middle of the pack teams. Here are my power rankings heading into Week 7: Los Angeles Rams (6-0) New Orleans Saints (4-1) Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) New England Patriots (4-2) Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2-1) Minnesota Vikings (3-2-1) Baltimore Ravens (4-2) Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) Carolina Panthers (3-2) Green Bay P...
