Best Draft Choices for the Chicago Bears

Will New Coaching Staff Improve Team A Lot?

The Bears finished 5-11 last year, last place in the NFC North. In other words, they sucked. On offense and defense actually. If you want to know how bad their defense actually was, listen to this. The Bears allowed two straight 50 point games this season. Can you believe that? They allowed a lot of rushing and passing yards. On offense, the problems were surrounding their quarterback, Jay Cutler. He had a lot of weapons, four notable ones in fact. He had Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffrey were his wide receivers, Matt Forte was his running back, and a quarterback's best friend, Martellus Bennett, the tight end. Cutler was tied for most interceptions, was tied for the most fumbles in the league, and had the most turnovers in the league. This almost sums it up. He made a lot of fantasy owners look bad. On top of this, they have a lot of old players such as Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman who always get injured.

After the season though, things started to look up. There hired a completely new staff. They hired Ryan Pace as general manager, John Fox as head coach, Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator, and Adam Gase as offensive coordinator which is excellent. Now they must put together a good roster. They just signed a pass rusher named Parnell McPhee in free agency but still need a lot of help on their defensive front because Stephen Paea signed with the Washington Redskins. Also, they traded away a once Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall who was Cutler's favorite target. With the 7th overall pick in the NFL Draft, they will look for either someone to bolster their defensive line or a wide receiver. Here are the top prospects for the Chicago Bears:
  1. Danny Shelton - Nose Tackle - Washington
  2. Shane Ray - Defensive End - Missouri
  3. Vic Beasley - Outside Linebacker - Clemson
  4. Randy Gregory - Outside Linebacker - Nebraska
  5. Jordan Phillips - Nose Tackle - Oklahoma
  6. Alvin "Bud" Dupree - Outside Linebacker - Kentucky
  7. Amari Cooper - Wide Receiver - Alabama
  8. Kevin White - Wide Receiver - West Virginia
  9. DeVante Parker - Wide Receiver - Louisville

Why the Patriots Won Super Bowl 51

Pats Win Over Falcons 34-28 in OT It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, the Patriots could not get anything going on the offensive side of the ball. In the second half, the Falcons could not get anything going. Belichick and Brady pulled off some more magic and won their fifth Super Bowl together. In the second half, it seemed as though the game was getting away from the Atlanta Falcons, and their youth caught up to them. I believe that this game should have definitely been won by the Falcons, but the game slipped away from them. There are many reasons to explain what happened, including the fact that the Falcons did not run the football to milk down the clock in the second half, they turned the ball over when it was not necessary, they did not play as tough and physical on defense and seemed gassed, and even just because Tom Brady and the rest of his offense played a hell of a game. In my opinion, though, the real reason why the Patriots won, is because of t...

Week 14 Power Rankings

Cowboys on a Roll, Panthers Drop Not many people expected the Dallas Cowboys to top the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football during Week 13. The Saints came into the game winning ten straight, while the Cowboys were a "mediocre" team in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The Cowboys won 13-10 and will rise in the week's rankings. In other important games, the Chicago Bears lost a shocker to the New York Giants, Lamar Jackson won his third straight game for the Baltimore Ravens against the Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Texans won their ninth straight game, and the Los Angeles Chargers won a close one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Carolina Panthers are quickly fading in the wild-card race, and have lost four straight games. Here are my rankings heading into Week 14: Los Angeles Rams (11-1) Kansas City Chiefs (10-2) New Orleans Saints (10-2) Los Angeles Chargers (9-3) New England Patriots (9-3) Houston Texans (9-3) Pittsburgh Steelers (...

Week 7 Power Rankings

Chiefs Suffer First Loss; Ravens Shut Out Titans The New England Patriots were able to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs by three points at home, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers came back to avoid an upset to the 49ers, the Steelers defeated the Bengals, and the Dolphins took down the Bears at the end of overtime. There were some unexpected wins and losses, as well as some close games, in Week 6. The Dallas Cowboys blew out the Jacksonville Jaguars and their top-notch defense, 40-7. It is been hard to figure out which teams are "contenders" and which are "pretenders" this season. It is especially difficult to rank the middle of the pack teams. Here are my power rankings heading into Week 7: Los Angeles Rams (6-0) New Orleans Saints (4-1) Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) New England Patriots (4-2) Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2-1) Minnesota Vikings (3-2-1) Baltimore Ravens (4-2) Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) Carolina Panthers (3-2) Green Bay P...
