My Conference Championship Game Picks

An Upset?

Here are my predictions for this week's games:

Green Bay 17 - Seattle 23

Actually, I said that the Seahawks were going to win by 17 points, but I know that it is probably going to be a much closer game. This is not going to be like the Week 1 match up because the Packers are going to play much better. But the outcome will remain the same. The X-factor for the Packers is Eddie Lacy. The Packers will not be able to rely on a hobbled Aaron Rodgers all the time, and definitely not against the Legion of Boom. Lacy is going to have to carry the ball for over 125 yards for the Packers to have a chance at winning. For the Seahawks on offense, i think that the X-factor is Doug Baldwin, their wide receiver. If the Packers are somehow able to stop Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson with their run game, Wilson will be forced to throw the ball. Baldwin must come up big for the Seahawks. In the end, I believe that Seattle's defense will win it for them.

Indianapolis 31 - New England 28

In the Andrew Luck era, Luck has played Brady a grand total of three times. Each of these three times, he has lost by 20 points. This will not happen again. I just feel as if the Colts will fire more cylinders than the Patriots and then win it with a late touchdown. Vontae Davis, the Colts cornerback, will stop Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. The Colts linebacker do his best to stop Rob Gronkowski. The key match up in this game is Darrelle Revis vs. T.Y. Hilton. I think that Hilton will win this battle and his team will win the game.

Why the Patriots Won Super Bowl 51

Pats Win Over Falcons 34-28 in OT It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, the Patriots could not get anything going on the offensive side of the ball. In the second half, the Falcons could not get anything going. Belichick and Brady pulled off some more magic and won their fifth Super Bowl together. In the second half, it seemed as though the game was getting away from the Atlanta Falcons, and their youth caught up to them. I believe that this game should have definitely been won by the Falcons, but the game slipped away from them. There are many reasons to explain what happened, including the fact that the Falcons did not run the football to milk down the clock in the second half, they turned the ball over when it was not necessary, they did not play as tough and physical on defense and seemed gassed, and even just because Tom Brady and the rest of his offense played a hell of a game. In my opinion, though, the real reason why the Patriots won, is because of t...

Week 14 Power Rankings

Cowboys on a Roll, Panthers Drop Not many people expected the Dallas Cowboys to top the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football during Week 13. The Saints came into the game winning ten straight, while the Cowboys were a "mediocre" team in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The Cowboys won 13-10 and will rise in the week's rankings. In other important games, the Chicago Bears lost a shocker to the New York Giants, Lamar Jackson won his third straight game for the Baltimore Ravens against the Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Texans won their ninth straight game, and the Los Angeles Chargers won a close one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Carolina Panthers are quickly fading in the wild-card race, and have lost four straight games. Here are my rankings heading into Week 14: Los Angeles Rams (11-1) Kansas City Chiefs (10-2) New Orleans Saints (10-2) Los Angeles Chargers (9-3) New England Patriots (9-3) Houston Texans (9-3) Pittsburgh Steelers (...

Week 7 Power Rankings

Chiefs Suffer First Loss; Ravens Shut Out Titans The New England Patriots were able to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs by three points at home, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers came back to avoid an upset to the 49ers, the Steelers defeated the Bengals, and the Dolphins took down the Bears at the end of overtime. There were some unexpected wins and losses, as well as some close games, in Week 6. The Dallas Cowboys blew out the Jacksonville Jaguars and their top-notch defense, 40-7. It is been hard to figure out which teams are "contenders" and which are "pretenders" this season. It is especially difficult to rank the middle of the pack teams. Here are my power rankings heading into Week 7: Los Angeles Rams (6-0) New Orleans Saints (4-1) Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) New England Patriots (4-2) Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2-1) Minnesota Vikings (3-2-1) Baltimore Ravens (4-2) Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) Carolina Panthers (3-2) Green Bay P...
